Ad Pages · the demo

Shopify landing page examples: one page for every ad.

Pick an ad and see the page it lands on, on a phone and on a desktop. Each page was built from the brand's own site, in its own Shopify theme, then checked line by line.

Halden & Wick is a made-up brand, built to show how Ad Pages works. Its products, ads, reviews and photos are examples we wrote and made. Nothing here is a client's.

  • 21ads, each with its own page
  • 29 smedian time to write and check a page
  • 6 of 21held for a fix before going live

From the build log of these 21 pages, 27 October 2026. Screens captured 27 October 2026.

Pick an ad, see its page

These are Halden & Wick's ads, as written for its made-up Meta account. Each one gets a page that repeats its own promise, instead of every ad landing on the same home page.

The ad · a made-up ad for a made-up brand · Short

Light the end of the day.

Nightfall: black fig, cedarwood and a trace of woodsmoke. It burns for 45 hours. Poured by hand in Yorkshire, forty at a time.

What the checks said about this page

Nothing held

  • Keeps the ad's promise 85 out of 100.

  • From the ad to the basket The first-screen button lands on the buy box, which can add to the basket.

  • Phone and desktop Nothing scrolls sideways at 390 or 1440 px; every picture loads.

  • Advertising rules (UK) 9 lines to look at. A guide, not legal advice.

What our checks stopped

Real catches from this brand's own builds: what the ad or the first draft said, and what went on the page.

When an ad promises more than the site

Ad: Burns for 100 hours.

The ad saidBurns for 100 hours. … One candle, 100 hours of light.
The page saysBurns for 45 hours. Every batch timed.

The brand's product page says 45 hours (its FAQ says up to 50). The page uses the product page's measured figure; nothing on it says 100.

Ad: The UK's favourite candle.

The ad saidThe UK's favourite candle. … Thousands of homes can't be wrong. … rated five stars
The page saysThe candle we're known for.

The site has no ratings, no customer numbers and no popularity claim, only “the one we're known for”. The page says that instead.

When a first draft won't fit a phone screen

Ad: Still thinking about Nightfall?

First draft, 170 charactersNightfall burns for 45 hours, you can return it within 30 days if it is unlit and in its box, and the batch number on the base tells you exactly which forty it came from.
On the page, 135 charactersNightfall burns for 45 hours, returns are within 30 days if unlit, and the batch number on the base tells you which forty it came from.

Too long to keep the button on the first phone screen, so just this line went back to be rewritten, from the site's own facts.

Ad: Winter Hearth is back.

First draft, 191 charactersWinter Hearth smells of orange peel, clove, fir balsam and woodsmoke, and we pour it from October to December, then stop until next autumn. Order by 18 December for delivery before Christmas.
On the page, 130 charactersOrange peel, clove, fir balsam and woodsmoke, poured from October to December. Order by 18 December for delivery before Christmas.

Too long to keep the button on the first phone screen, so just this line went back to be rewritten, from the site's own facts.

Ad: We write the card. We leave out the prices.

First draft, 153 charactersWe wrap the box in oat tissue, tie it with a cotton ribbon and write your message on a card by hand, then send it straight to them with no prices inside.
On the page, 139 charactersWe wrap the box in oat tissue, tie it with a cotton ribbon and write your message on a card by hand. It goes to them with no prices inside.

Too long to keep the button on the first phone screen, so just this line went back to be rewritten, from the site's own facts.

Held on a finished page

After a page is built, a second check reads it as a visitor would. 6 of 21 pages are marked held: each has at least one line its site doesn't back up (6 lines in all), to change before the page goes live. Some of them:

Ad: Three small candles, one good gift

On the pageSent as a gift in their own words
The checkOnly one of the three reviews below is about a gift. The other two are about the Nightfall candle.

Held: the brand's site doesn't back this line up, so it changes before the page goes live.

Ad: Keep the glass. Refill the candle.

On the pageFOUR STEPS, NO TOOLS
The checkThe brand's site never says no tools are needed or counts the steps as four.

Held: the brand's site doesn't back this line up, so it changes before the page goes live.

Ad: No paraffin. No palm. No plastic.

On the pageRapeseed and coconut. Nothing else.
The checkThe brand's site says the wax is rapeseed and coconut, but fragrance is 10% of it. "Nothing else" overstates.

Held: the brand's site doesn't back this line up, so it changes before the page goes live.

Ad: Winter Hearth is back.

On the pageLit on Christmas Eve, bought in November.
The checkPoints to the Christmas Eve and November reviews, but this section shows three other reviews.

Held: the brand's site doesn't back this line up, so it changes before the page goes live.

Planted on purpose

Where the site disagrees with itself

Real sites contradict themselves, so we wrote four contradictions into Halden & Wick's site on purpose. Before a page repeats a fact, the build finds which version the site really stands behind, uses that one, and tells the brand about the other.

  1. Returns window

Delivery and returns page“You can return anything within 30 days of delivery, as long as it is unlit, unopened and in its original box.”

FAQ“Yes, within 60 days of delivery, as long as it is unlit and in its original box.”

Pages say: 30 daysThe returns policy is the page whose job it is. A page saying 60 would promise what the checkout may not honour; the brand is told to fix the FAQ.

  2. Burn time

Nightfall product page“Burn time: 45 hours.”

    FAQ“Up to 50 hours.”

Pages say: 45 hoursThe product page's figure is the measured one, and the lower number can't be wrong.

  3. Free delivery

Delivery and returns page“Free UK delivery on orders over £50.”

The bar across the top of every page“Free UK delivery on orders over £40”

Pages say: over £50The policy page and every product page say £50. The bar is the brand's own site, so it still shows in these screenshots: fixing it is the brand's job, and the report tells it so.

  4. Recycled glass

Nightfall product page“made with at least 70% recycled glass”

Home page“an amber glass made from 100% recycled glass”

Pages say: at least 70% recycled glassFive pages give the specific figure. “100% recycled” is a green claim the brand would have to prove, so no page says it.
