A website for photographers.
Show the day, the price, and who is in the room.
Couples already know what a wedding feels like. From most photographer websites they still cannot tell what the day costs, who will be holding the camera, or when the pictures come back. We write that brief with you, design and build the site, then look after updates, fixes and improvements for a monthly fee.
From £15/mo, plus a one-off build pack from £29.
The coast is the first screen. The day, in order, is the next.
This is a live example of our work, not a customer business. Before they enquire
A photographer website has to answer the day before it answers the grid.
Three questions, in the order a couple meets them. What the whole day costs. Who will actually be there. When the pictures come back, and what they may do with them.
The example tells one wedding as a morning, a ceremony, and what it calls the wild bit.
Holly Craster Photography · example build for a fictional business07:40 · Morning
The figure for the whole day.
Getting ready is where people learn whether you are easy to have in the kitchen. It is also where the price belongs. A page that says "packages" and never prints a pound figure has not answered.
Ceremony
Who is holding the camera.
Say if you line the families up, or stay at the back. Say if it is you, or you and one other person. The people in the room will look for themselves in the pictures afterwards.
Evening
Rain, and the gallery.
A beach, a speech, a first dance, and what you do if it rains. Then the date the pictures arrive, and whether the couple may print the files or only look at them.
48
of 60 front pages showed no £ figure at all.
We read the front page of 60 UK wedding, family and portrait sites in August 2026. Other pages were not read. Forty used a word such as pricing or packages. Thirty-one used the word and still showed no figure.
10 published a price we could extract
Every one of those ten was in pounds. None of the extracted prices said whether VAT was included. The useful ones priced the whole day, not a print.
0 said "second shooter"
Those words, and "second photographer", were on none of the 60 front pages. A couple still needs to know who walks in at 7.40.
Front pages only, August 2026. The set is photographers offering wedding, family or portrait work, including some who also list other work. It is not every photographer in the country.
From the same read
Four front pages that price the day and say who is there.
Real UK sites from that read. Regions only. Their prices belong to them. Copy the clarity, not a number you do not charge.
Wiltshire · Salisbury
One photographer, the whole day, in pounds.
Premier £2,200 and Classic £1,600. Both run the whole day, with half due at booking, the edited images, a USB and an online gallery. He shoots every wedding himself: no subcontractors, no hour limits, no hidden charges. Albums are listed from £750 to £1,250.
The same page prints a star rating and a named customer's sentence. Those stay there. Do not borrow them.
Eastbourne · Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire
A full day, a count of pictures, and a reply.
From £1,797 for full-day coverage, morning preparations to the last dance, 600 or more edited photographs within five weeks, and no hourly limit. He says he replies within the hour. The menu has a prices page and a wedding venues page.
A list of rooms you have worked in is not a venue's logo, and it is not a claim that the venue recommends you.
Wirral · Liverpool, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales
The ceremony, without having to buy the evening.
Ceremony £475: the ceremony, family and guests, and a USB of the edited images. Full day £1,200: preparations, ceremony, breakfast and evening, and a USB. The album is listed as £POA.
A couple can see the morning priced on its own.
Hampshire · two photographers
The page says the two of them will be there.
A husband-and-wife team. Packages from £495. They normally deliver 600 or more photographs in one to three weeks, into a password-protected gallery. You do not have to guess whether a stranger arrives on the day.
Past the cover
Prices on the page. A date check that a person answers.
Holly Craster photographs weddings in Northumberland and the Borders, and families on the beaches between Alnmouth and Bamburgh. She is fictional. The figures below are hers, on the example, not ThemeSmith's fees.
One person, named, for the whole day.
The example says she has worked alone since 2014. No second shooter, no assistant. Write that if it is true of you. If someone else sometimes comes, name the arrangement and who owns the pictures they make.
The same page repeats an invented rating. We do not. A testimonial on your site has to be from a real client, someone you can contact, used with their permission. It is not proof of a claim about quality.
Before you publish
Own the pictures. Say who may use them.
Checked against gov.uk, legislation.gov.uk, the ICO and the ASA on 6 Oct 2026. Nothing here is a fee, a grant or a date we could not read on the page.
Copyright sits with the maker, unless the contract moves it.
It is automatic, it includes photographs, there is no UK register, and you do not need a ©. Self-employed, you usually own the work even when a couple commissioned it, unless the contract gives the rights away. An employee does not own photographs made in the course of the job, unless you agree otherwise.
A second photographer follows the same split. Employed by you, the pictures from that employment are yours unless the contract says otherwise. Self-employed, they usually own theirs until the contract gives the rights away. Say "permission to use" when that is the deal. Fair dealing for news does not cover a photograph.
Marketing a customer's face is a further use.
Whether a frame is personal data depends on what you do with it. Using a couple's pictures to advertise your own work is not the same as delivering their gallery. The ICO's worked example for that kind of campaign seeks consent. Consent is one of six lawful bases. You cannot make it a condition of the booking, and people can take it back.
Do not write that a model release is legally required. With children, take extra care: a compelling reason, their interests first. A school's photo rules are not the rules for a wedding.
A venue you have photographed is not a partner.
Do not claim a hotel, a barn or an association endorses you, and do not use their logo, unless they have agreed. Naming the beach or the room is a different sentence. Membership of a photographic society is voluntary. It is not a licence to practise, and there isn't a statutory one to put on the page.
Eight of the 60 front pages named a voluntary body. One mentioned insurance. Neither fact, on its own, tells a couple what the day costs.
Checked 6 Oct 2026 against gov.uk on copyright, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, section 11, the ICO on marketing a customer's photograph and the ASA on official endorsements.
The build
A gallery builder can suit a simple shopfront. We can do the pages with you.
A portfolio builder is a fair choice if you will write the site and keep it current. Templates give you places for pictures. They do not decide what a full day includes, what happens to Saturday's phone, or how you explain rain and copyright in your own words.
People also search for a website to share photos with clients, or to sell prints. Those are different jobs. This page is the public site a couple reads before they book. We do not run a proofing gallery, and we do not sell prints for you.
We write a brief with you, design and build the site, then look after updates, fixes and improvements for a monthly fee. You see the work before it goes live. The example has separate pages for weddings, families, prices, the photographer and a date check, plus the form.
Your domain stays yours. If you leave, we send a static snapshot another host can serve, and you can export the pages, the copy, the brand assets and the photographs. Cancellation is two clicks. There is no introductory rate that quietly ends. A failed build is not charged, and a person follows up the next working day.
What you pay.
A monthly plan to keep the site, and a one-off pack for the build. Prices from the pricing page. No setup fee, no minimum term, no annual contract.

Cancellation takes two clicks from your account. The site keeps running until the end of the billing period. Your domain stays yours, and if you leave we send a static snapshot for another host. Failed builds are not charged; a person follows up the next working day. There is no introductory rate that runs out.
Get startedQuestions photographers ask
Before the site is built.
What should a photographer website show before someone enquires?
What the whole day costs, who will be in the room, when the pictures come back, and how to ask if a date is free. Of the 60 front pages we read, 48 showed no pound figure at all. A contact form does not repair that.
Can the price live on one page?
Yes. The example publishes full day, a shorter booking, elopements and a family hour on the prices page, and repeats the shape of those figures on the home page. The pre-wedding walk has no set figure yet, so the page says ask, and that the number is given in writing. Add a page when a kind of work needs its own explanation. You see the price of an extra page before you pay.
Who owns the photographs?
If you are self-employed, you usually do, even when the couple commissioned the day, unless your contract gives the rights away. If you employ someone, you own the photographs they make in that job, unless you agree otherwise. A self-employed second photographer usually owns theirs until the contract gives the rights away. Say permission to use when you mean permission. Copyright is automatic. There is no register to join.
May I use a venue's logo?
Only with their permission. Do not write that a hotel or an association endorses you unless they have said so. You can name a place you have photographed. That is not the same sentence. Testimonials have to be genuine, and you need permission to use them.
What do I pay, and how do I leave?
Starter is £15/mo for one live site. Business is £39/mo for three. The build is a pack: £29, £59 or £89 for one, three or five pages, with 30 days of edits after the build. Cancel from your account in two clicks. The site runs to the end of the period, the domain stays yours, and if you leave we send a static snapshot. You can export the pages, the copy, the brand assets and the photographs. There is no introductory rate.
